Greensboro, NC - Matthews Specialty Vehicles unveils BLOODZILLA!

MSV's new , luxury, bloodmobile makes blood donation quick, easy and comfortable for both the staff and the patients with state-of-the-art features and more room than ever before.

Matthews Specialty Vehicles is proud to unveil their new Bloodmobile, which they call Bloodzilla because of its size.  The 42' long unit with 83" headroom and 102" wide exterior and three (3) slide-outs has more room then ever before.  The six (6) contoured blood donor beds are very comfortable for the patient and they are arranged for optimal staff comfort as well, so they are able to work quickly and easily.  The three (3) history rooms are in the rear of the vehicle to ensure a smooth process from start to finish.  Some of the features of this vehicle are recessed lighting, ducted ceiling, rear underbody flip-down steps, two (2) 20kW quiet diesel generators and state-of-the-art shelving and cabinetry, including areas equipped for aphaeresis applications.  Everything about this vehicle is designed to make the donation process quick, smooth and easy.  A donor can complete the process, including history screening, collection and post donating in half the time that it usually takes.  Now, this mobile unit can go to health fairs, schools, public events, shopping centers, business parks and apartment complexes and donors can feel comfortable knowing that the process is not going to take the usual hour or more.  Also, with hydraulic slide-outs that release with the press of a button this vehicle arrives to its destination virtually ready to begin a blood drive.

According to Sales Director, Dennis Hoag, "This new unit will provide a more efficient, comfortable, and smooth donation process than ever before.  This is going to allow the maximum number of patients to donate in a short amount of time.  The luxury of this new vehicle isn't just on the interior.  This is one of the first units to have our new cap on the front end and it makes the exterior more appealing to donors.  Our graphics department can wrap the exterior in eye-catching graphics that will help draw more attention to the vehicle."

Bloodzilla was a huge success at the AABB show in New Orleans this year.  The conference attendees were blown away with the spacious and technologically advanced interior.  According to Bloodmobile Account Executive, James Boone, "This is a very exciting time for Matthews because, as we introduce this new bloodmobile, we will also be revealing the new, original, front end for our 102" wide units.  Viewers at the AABB conference were drawn to the vehicle because of the exterior's appeal and this is exactly what our customers are looking for.  They need people to see the vehicle and want to donate blood.  This vehicle will do that and more!"
