GREENSBORO (November 20,2014) Matthews Specialty Vehicles partnered with ClinicalRM, who receieved an award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in support of efforts in Guinea and other Ebola-affected countries to increase production and evaluation of blood products therapies for people infected with the Ebola virus.
Matthews Speicalty Vehicles has provided conversion service for specialty vehicles since 1992. Our product lines include Mobile Healthcare Vehicles, Bloodmobiles, Bookmobiles, Mobile Law Enforcement solutions such as BATmobiles (Blood Alcohol Testing vehicles) and Mobile Command Centers.
In October 2014, Matthews Specialty Vehicles was asked to lend our expertise in the conversion of vehicles for mobile plasma collection by ClinicalRM. ClinicalRM “works to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the world by providing clinical research services with the highest quality, integrity and value.” The ClinicalRM team is spearheading clinical research where convalescent plasma combined with pathogen inactivated technology is hypothesized to have the potential of being developed into an effective treatment for people infected with Ebola. Matthews Specialty Vehicles provided the conversion services for three (3) Bloodmobiles for mobile plasma collection.
On November 7, 2014 our vehicles were loaded onto a Volga-Dnegr cargo plane at Raleigh Durham International Airport and flown to Africa, in support of the efforts to eradicate the Ebola virus. The entire Matthews Specialty Vehicles team has been honored to partner with ClinicalRM for this worthy cause.
